About the Period Hygiene Network
About us…
Seventeen-year-old Cassidy began this non-profit at Port Huron Northern because she saw a problem and realized she could fix it with your donations. Her 12-year-old sister, Kenzie, picked up a sister program at Holland Woods Middle School to fix the problem there. But we dream to expand to every PHASD building and eventually statewide.
We supply a variety of pads and tampons IN the bathrooms at public schools. Our mission is two-fold:
-
To reduce the embarrassment and stigma attached to menstruation
-
To supply free, easily accessible period supplies to students to reduce the amount of missed class time.
Our Goals
Care for the menstruation needs of students at public schools.
Increase donations to expand our program and help others begin their own.
Help more menstruating students be able to engage in education by removing the obstacle of menstruation needs.
Do you know that Michigan is behind in student equity?
Seventeen other states have already taken action to support menstruating students.
